HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016 !!!!!!!!

Link

Happy New Year NENSGA Members! We are starting our 7th year in 2016, and every year has been better than the last. Membership is up, attendance is up, and the Golf Courses are doing a great job of hosting our Tournaments.

In 2016, there will be one Very Important change in the way we set up our Tournaments. We have listened to the Membership, and have concluded that we need to simplify our entry process. Starting this coming 2016 campaign, all entries will be sent to Bill Schuele, our Vice President. There will be no need to contact each Course for any reason, Bill will handle entries, cancellations, finding replacements,or any other questions concerning the Tournament.

When you receive your entry forms, you will notice that all entry forms will have the same address to return your entry form and checks, and one (1) phone number to call if the need arises, such as cancellations, etc. We will also up-date the Web, www.nensga.com. You will be able to go to the Tournament page, click on the selected Tournament, and it will reflect who has sent in their entries, and if needed, who is on stand-by status.

THIS IS IMPORTANT !! For those of you that send in entries for multiple Tournaments, you MUST send separate checks for for each event entered. You CANNOT send 1 large check to cover all those events. Yon CAN send 1 check to cover you and your partner for each Tournament (encouraged !), or you can each send a separate check and entry form as done in the past. THE CHECKS MUST BE MADE OUT TO THE GOLF COURSE as in the past.

If you do not use computers, please call Bill or myself and we will confirm your status. Please allow 3-4 days after you mail your entries for Bill to receive and post your names. As most of you are aware, it would be wise to mail your entries at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance

Another Very Successful Season In 2015

The 2015 season is now in the record books. We crowned our NENSGA SENIOR CUP Champion. Gary Schoepf is our 2nd multiple honoree, earning his 2nd CUP.

The final tournament at the Wayne Country Club was very well attended with 92 players. It turned out to be a fantastic Day for golf. We had a GREAT Steak meal and everyone in attendance came away with something. Troy Harder, PGA PRO at Wayne added $700 to the prize fund as well as several other nice touches for our Membership.

We will start our Fall meetings in less than 2 weeks so the challenges and memories are still fresh in our minds. They will be very wide ranging discussions, and  we will endeavor to make the changes necessary to make 2016 the best Season so Far.

Please contact any of the Board Members with any suggestions, or concerns with-in the next 2 weeks so we can discuss them in detail. Thank you all for a very successful 2015, And be safe until we get together next year!

Ponca was another great Event

The Ponca tournament was as good as advertised. We sold out, the weather was as good as you could want, and as usual the food was great.

Guys, you really need to pay attention, these tournaments are selling out EARLY!Steepleview is sold out, Leigh is getting close, even Hartington is very close, and it is at the end of June! Please pick your events and get signed up. Your checks are held until right at tournament day. We are looking at doing something to get more people able to play, but it will most likely be next year.

We have a lot of new Members, many more of our Members are PLAYERS, they want to play, so if you do, better be pro-active. We had a lot of very good scores in each flight at Ponca. I have loaded the points into the NENSGA CUP page for everyone to see. It is satisfying to see new members already scoring points,as well as some familiar names. Check out that page and PLEASE watch the tournament page for entries received. I will attempt to update this every few days.

Crofton is next, it is sold out. This is a Course we all enjoy, really great scenery, challenging holes, and a great Host. Stay tuned for results next week.

2 Days to go for Ponca, Club 91 Added!

We have only a couple of days till it’s showtime. Allan says the Course is in great shape again, the weather is supposed to be great, the food is awesome, and as usual we will have a great time seeing old friends.

Please note we have added Club 91 in Leigh to the schedule on June 8th, Monday. We looked the Course over and it is really in great shape. They did the right thing last year, and quit playing the Greens early. Then they re-seeded, and the Greens have really responded. I would say they are better than before the tough Winter of 2013-2014. As a result of doing the right thing, their revenues really suffered last year. In short they need our help to show the Golfing World that they are back. Let’s show up BIG and help them out. We are working to get an entry form that you can down-load from our Web Page. In the meantime, I have printed out entry forms and will have them at Ponca and Crofton. I will also give some to all of the Directors and to Maribeth at Club 91. She will also take phone reservations. Please note THIS EVENT ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please drive careful guys, and we will see you in Ponca. Also remember Hartington will only take 72 players!! We have filled both Ponca and Crofton very far out so if you want to play Hartington, I would say at least 4 weeks out to be sure you will get in.
