Antelope C.C. in Neligh Records a First

What a great day of golf at a new course for NENSGA. Antelope C.C. was in great shape and the meal was good as usual, Plus we recorded our First ever Hole in One. Bill Schuele aced hole #6 and will receive our first $250.00 pay out. Congratulations Bill!

The scoring was as competitive as we have become accustomed to A very nice 67 by Ralph Zeisler and Sam Knepper won the first flight with 8 teams under par. The entire second flight placings shot a 74!!!!! It has really become a competitve field every tournament, and anyone truly has a chance to win on a given day.

Next up is El Dorado in Norfolf on July 1. We have been told they will have the Bar-B-Que Rib dinner again. I really look for 80 to 90 players at this event. Get your entries in early so we can plan the food. Carts will NOT be an issue. The course is in the best shape it has been in several years. They have over-seeded and after a droughty season last year and some well problems, everything in in prime shape and they have been pouring the water to the course. Drive by if you are in town, you will see the difference immediately.

Let’s get our entries in early and avoid the last minute scrambling. I am looking forward to a really great tournament. Drive Safe, and see you July 1 at Eldo.

Humphrey sets a record.

We had another great time at the Steepleview Course in Humphrey. It was a bit on the windy side, but a 66 (6 under par) was needed to win, so it still was a great track to score on. Again, we had a very competitve field in every flight with numerous score card play-offs. We decided to roll the dice and allow as many members to play as wanted to sign up. We took 80 players on a 9 hole  course and is the tradition with NENSGA members, we pulled it off with flying colors. Everyone played ready golf and we were not more than 15 to 30 minutes off a 60 or 66 member pace. Great Job Guys!!!!

Please visit the NENSGA Senior Cup points for 2013, I up-dated them this morning. It is going to be another horse race guys, so keep your horse in the race! We are on to Antelope Country Club in Neligh on Monday June 17 for our next event. This will be a scoring shoot-out. The Course really looks great and does represent a chance to really go low. They are confident they can get the Carts to host the 66 limit and maybe a few more so if you want in, get in, NOW! It will fill fast. Keep an eye on the Web page, as I will up-date the entries rec’d every couple days.
