I really hate to write this column, as it means the season is over and we will not see each other on a regular basis for another year. The good thing is, we really did have a GREAT 2012 season. We picked up a lot of new members, and our tournament participation was way up from last year. Guys, that is the key to future success for your Association, talk up NENSGA to anyone who is not yet a member, and get them signed up next year!
Wayne was another record for NENSGA, 80 players!!!!!!!! Smashed the record set just this year at El Dorado. A tougher Course this year with a strong field and only 6 players under par. But once again a ton of ties in a closely bunched field.Outstanding Steak Dinner, and everyone walked out of there with something in their pocket.
The Directors are planning a Fall meeting to go over this season and start planning for next. There is some confusion from a couple of members that I have spoken to since Wayne. There were a couple of discussions after the meeting concerning limitations and minimum participation to be eligible for winning or earning points in a NENSGA event. I can assure you there will be no changes to our present format or Rules concerning those items.
Please send any suggestions you may have to any of the Directors so they can be addressed at this Fall meeting. I will Post a summary as soon as the meeting has been completed.
One last Point. If you missed it, Bill Zeisler was crowned the NENSGA SENIOR CUP CHAMPION after an epic 6 hole play-off with Friend and Partner Terry Lutt who finished Second. Dennis Koopman finished Third,Russell Jensen Fourth, and Doug Pinkley won a playoff with friend and partner Jim Lund for Fifth place. Please extend Congrats to all these members when you see them.
